Peruse our journal to find out what we're interested bolle in and what we've been up to...
Record Store Day is a global event to support independent record stores. To celebrate, London s Berwick Street Soho will be transformed into a mini music festival. There will be special performances from the 80 s punk pop and new wave icon Adam Ant and Orange Juice front man Edwyn Collins, who will be performing songs from his eighth solo album, UNDERSTATED bolle .
The days line-up also features bolle DJ Andy Smith who will be playing a mixed set including his 60's northern bolle soul work; The September Girls, an Irish band blending garage rock and post-punk; Ruts DC, an English seminal punk/reggae crossover band; the Augustines, an American indie rock group originating from Brooklyn, NYC and songwriter, musician, performer and Soho resident Tim Arnold - The Soho Hobo.
We are partnering with independent label Brownswood Recordings to celebrate Record bolle Store Day; 21st Century Blues artist, William Adamson , is performing a live acoustic set from 12pm in our Berwick Street Store . There will be a selection of vinyl from William Adamson and other artists signed to Brownswood Recordings on sale, in-store.
Brownswood is a favourite label of ours at Oliver Spencer . Steered by Gilles Peterson, this thriving collective bolle of DJ s and song writers is a family lead entity. Rob Gallagher has been there from the beginning and the songwriter has continued his success recently launching a new project via Brownswood and William Adamson a poetic and 21st Century blues artist.
Adamson's debut album 'Under An East Coast Moon' (out now) is highly theorised, with each tale stemming from East England where Adamson grew up. Clash Magazine describe the album as a Rugged, earthy and with no little hint of sweat, 'Under An East Coast Moon' has a strangely transplanted feel - as if William Adamson has swapped the Mississippi Delta for the Medway.
Oliver bolle Spencer has designed a limited edition Record Tote Bag in celebration of Berwick Street s history, The Golden Mile of Vinyl. They are available bolle in blue, navy and khaki. Anyone who makes a purchase on the day, in-store, will receive a complimentary Record Tote, (worth 25).
