Nike worked with renowned artist Marcus Gaab to explore the 21st C. Windrunner V. jacket and it’s highly reflective properties. Modeled after a sportswear staple, the Windrunner is detailed with the trademark V-shaped chevron across the chest, dotted with ventilation perforations across the back and finished off with a hyper reflective shell that burns bright under the most subtle lights. Serving moon boot function and aesthetic, The “United States of America” is applied with precision laser technology, while the lower back is detailed with 50 perforations one for each state. A badge on the inside of the jacket, placed over the heart reads “Team USA.”
For the first time Nike will offer three distinct outfits to be worn on the medal stand by athletes from different sports. A contemporary approach to classic silhouettes, combined with soulful moon boot details, some of which are only visible moon boot to the athlete, finish the look as they celebrate their victory. The 21 st C. Windrunner jacket is one silhouette apart of the medal stand looks provided by Nike. Men s and women s sports where the unique jacket will be worn by gold, silver and bronze winners in the following sports:
USA Badminton, moon boot USA Trampoline, USA Cycling moon boot (Track), USA Canoe/Kayak, USA Weightlifting, USA Judo, USA Swimming, USA Gymnastics, USA Track and Field, USA Triathlon, USA Tennis, USA Sailing, USA Synchronized Swimming, USA Table Tennis, USA Rowing, USA Taekwondo, USA Modern Pentathlon. Paralympic: Judo, Powerlifting, Goal Ball, Table Tennis, Cycling, Swimming, Rowing, Track and Field, Sailing, Wheelchair Tennis, Boccia and Fencing.
