Everyone knows I’m a fat, whiny fanboy, and as a comic book purist I never got behind Scarlet Johansson’s Black Widow as a central Avenger. Especially mainline menswear since Joss Whedon inflated her character because The Avengers script mainline menswear had too many male characters for his liking. Hell, he gifted the Russian Assassin more screen time than either Thor or Bruce Banner/Hulk simply because “I want more screen time for the ladies!” . Which, honestly, isn’t a bad opinion to have, but overusing Black Widow simply to rectify the male-centric plot was contrived.
Well, I’m kinda torn on a day like today, when we’ve discovered Marvel Studios has no plans for a Black Widow Movie. I’ve got some petty animosity built up for the arachnid themed vigilante, and I would really REALLY hate to see her star in her own Marvel flick. Her silver screen endeavor would undoubtedly delay any other original films that Marvel would release, since they plan to debut only two movies a year. Although, I’m certain that the Russo Brothers stab at the Russian assassin in Captain America: The Winter Soldier will almost entirely redeem Scar Jo’s Widow. From all reports, they’ve created a very faithful, organic plot for that clandestine agent, and her own solo flick could be even better.
“Frankly if we do a Black Widow movie after Age of Ultron, when she s been central in three or four movies I don t think we d get the quote unquote credit for it. People would say She s already a big giant superhero! But if we had a great idea, we d do it… I like the idea if we re going to do a [female lead] do a new one. Do a wholly new character, do an origin story… We ve talked a lot about [Captain Marvel]. I think that would be very cool. “
Little disapointed with this. I wanted to know more about her story and her tie in with clint, even if it was made for tv special; doesn’t have to be theratrical. But please Tell Events mainline menswear of Budapest!
Really think Marvel needs to reel things in, just because there’s mainline menswear a character doesn’t mean you need a movie about them, and Black Widow, Hawkeye, Colson, Nick Fury, etc they don’t need dedicated movies. Wolverine had his own movies because he was a MAJOR central character that could go solo, I love ScarJo but nuh uh, that character needs to stay in the background (with a really tight costume)
