Record Store Day is a global event to support independent record stores. To celebrate, London s Berwick Street Soho will be transformed into a mini music festival. There will be special performances from the 80 s punk pop and new wave icon Adam Ant and Orange Juice front man Edwyn Collins, who will be performing songs from his eighth solo album, UNDERSTATED bolle .
The days line-up also features bolle DJ Andy Smith who will be playing a mixed set including his 60's northern bolle soul work; The September Girls, an Irish band blending garage rock and post-punk; Ruts DC, an English seminal punk/reggae crossover band; the Augustines, an American indie rock group originating from Brooklyn, NYC and songwriter, musician, performer and Soho resident Tim Arnold - The Soho Hobo.
We are partnering with independent label Brownswood Recordings to celebrate Record bolle Store Day; 21st Century Blues artist, William Adamson , is performing a live acoustic set from 12pm in our Berwick Street Store . There will be a selection of vinyl from William Adamson and other artists signed to Brownswood Recordings on sale, in-store.
Brownswood is a favourite label of ours at Oliver Spencer . Steered by Gilles Peterson, this thriving collective bolle of DJ s and song writers is a family lead entity. Rob Gallagher has been there from the beginning and the songwriter has continued his success recently launching a new project via Brownswood and William Adamson a poetic and 21st Century blues artist.
Adamson's debut album 'Under An East Coast Moon' (out now) is highly theorised, with each tale stemming from East England where Adamson grew up. Clash Magazine describe the album as a Rugged, earthy and with no little hint of sweat, 'Under An East Coast Moon' has a strangely transplanted feel - as if William Adamson has swapped the Mississippi Delta for the Medway.
Oliver bolle Spencer has designed a limited edition Record Tote Bag in celebration of Berwick Street s history, The Golden Mile of Vinyl. They are available bolle in blue, navy and khaki. Anyone who makes a purchase on the day, in-store, will receive a complimentary Record Tote, (worth 25).

Orlebar Brown x Konstantin Kakanias

Oliver Spencer’s inspiration for his SS15 collection was Mexican architect Luis Barragán (1902 1988). He was motivated by Barragán s creative use of light, form and space that reflect the spirit of a location; emotional architecture, connecting people, space and experience. From there, he created his own interpretation with a modern and experimental twist. Spencer also introduced new design loose with a relaxed fit as well as dropped necklines which reference the artist’s saks fifth smock and acknowledge a bohemian feel to the collection. Key pieces from this collection includes: saks fifth Buffalo Jacket in suede and cotton, Tote Bags in suede, the Barragán shirt with exaggerated length and the introduction of a constructed jacket.

Oliver Spencer: London Collections: Men S/S 2015 Catwalk Review Oliver Spencer returned to the Old Sorting Office on Monday 16 June, this time with a little help from some risqué Rio carnival dancers
It seemed like every man in London had been squashed into the Old Sorting Office for the Oliver Spencer show last Monday. It was bloody packed. My standing ticket didn’t offer me any privileges, as per, so I did my best to position myself behind the shortest person I could find in the hope of seeing anything at all. The lights dimmed and out marched a drumming band who, with huge grins on their faces, energetically played a samba beat for the models to walk to.
Oliver Spencer ‘s mantra is if it ain’t broke don’t fix it and this was another season of summery basics, smart tailoring and enticing prints. Cropped jackets were worn with longer paris fashion week t-shirts, featuring graphic designs. Rolled-up paris fashion week trouser legs revealed bare ankles.
Fitted blazers replicated the floral patterns of matching shirts, teamed paris fashion week with contrasting shorts and cravats. Boxy overcoats and suede jackets in ochre gave a 1970s feel; luxe blues and greens provided paris fashion week a modern counterbalance.
Soft linen jackets and shirts provided paris fashion week a welcome break from the more rigid tailored pieces and I longed to be wearing paris fashion week a loose, floaty Oliver Spencer tunic than the thick t-shirt and jacket that I’d opted for. Checked blazers in vibrant orange, nautical stripes and light knitwear came next, accessorised with retro shades, loafers and large luggage. Whilst not the most outlandish collection, it provided a vast range of wearable separates that would be difficult to get wrong in any combination.
For the finale, the drummers switched paris fashion week to a more uptempo tune as a busty carnival dancer led out the models; the final line-up featured a bevy of samba beauties. It was prime timing as World Cup fever sweeps paris fashion week the nation, but it felt a little forced; as the dancers rolled and twirled and cavorted with the crowd, the models looked a little paris fashion week stiff in comparison and I was left wondering if this was really the best gimmick. I’m hoping my rhinestone-encrusted bikini and feather head dress that I ordered shortly afterwards arrives in time for the World Cup final, though.

You know I ve got a lot of passion for Mark Prince and with what he s been through with the loss of his son, we re from the same area and know the whole history of it, so I m really looking forward to seeing him in championship action again.
I know he can do it, he has a lot to offer, some people think forty five is too old, George Foreman came back at forty five and won the title, then again look at Bernard Hopkins, unified Champion at forty eight and still mixing it with the best, so to me it s just a number.
Here we are at a lovely regal setting on a beautiful dresscode day for the interviews, obviously we ve got Mark Prince heading up the show, as well as George Hillyard, who s looking very trim and aiming dresscode to get back on a winning track.
it s an interesting situation that s arisen in the last two years, the boxing sanctioning market on UK soil has opened up, where other organisations such as the Malta Boxing Commission dresscode can sanction these fights, what s more they are gaining some momentum and are able to bring us these kind of fights, as well as top class fighters like Mark Prince and George Hillyard.
